25th Annual Show Me St. Louis Classic Invitational Bowling Tournament. August 29th - September 1st, 2008. The Show Me St. Louis Classic Invitational Bowling Tournament is a USBC sanctioned tournament and is a mixed handicap competition open to men and women by invitation only. All USBC rules apply except as noted in the tournament rules. The tournament takes place annually on the Saturday and Sunday of labor Day Weekend in St. Louis, Missouri. Proceeds from the event are distributed to organizations fulfilling the IRS 501(c)3 definition. The Show Me Classic is a proud supporter of IBGO (International Gay Bowling Organization).
Schedule: Friday, August 29th, Registration 7:00 - 11:00 PM, Welcome Party; Saturday, August 30th, Singles/Doubles Events, Shift A 9:00 AM, Shift B 3:00 PM; Sunday, August 1st, Team Events, Shift 1 9:00 AM, Shift 12:30 PM; Awards Banquet, Cocktails 6:30 PM, Dinner 7:30 PM, Awards 8:30 PM
Optional Scratch Divisions: Available to all bowlers for a $20 entry fee. The payout ratio will be 1:6 and payout will be 100% of the entry fees. Awards are based on best 3 game series and high game. Scratch divisions will be determined once entries are closed. The entire participation of the tournament will then be sorted by average to place an equal amount of possible bowlers in each division.
Optional Women's Handicap Division: Available to all women bowlers. The entry fee is $10. The payout will be 1:6 and payout will be 100% of the entry fees. The best 3 game handicap series and best handicap game will qualify.
Darkroom Doubles: Available to all bowlers for a $10 fee per entry. Multiple entries are allowed. The paying bowler will draw a random bowler and event (singles, doubles, or team) and the scores for those two bowlers for the event will qualify. If the pair's score qualifies for prize money, the paying bowler will receive the payout. The payout will be 1:6 and payout will be 80% of the entry fees.
Banquet: Orlando Gardens, 4300 Hoffmeister Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63125, 314.638.6660. The tradition continues with cocktails on us form the time you get to Orlando's until the time you leave. Orlando Gardens is the site for our banquet and awards ceremony. Dinner is served buffet style with a wide selection of items.
Host Hotel and Accommodations: Casino Queen, St. Louis, MO, $89.00 per night (plus tax), 1-2 person occupancy, Rate valid only through September 1, 2008. You must call the 800 number for this special rate. Mention the Show Me Classic Bowling Tournament.
Bolwing Center: Tropicana Lanes, 7960 Clayton Road, Richmond Heights, MO 63117, 314.781.0282. Tropicana Lanes is a privately owned bowling center featuring 52 synthetic wood laned, a full service bar with drink specials for the Show Me Classic bowlers, and a snack bar. There is no pro shop at this bowling center but there are vending machines which carry basic suppies for bowlers. The bowling center has a private bowling area which will be closed to the public during the Show Me Classic events.
Awards and Prizes: Payout Ratio is 1;6 (one in every six bowlers wins cash). Total Prize Fund / Trophies $17,000; First Place Teams $1,600; First Place Doubles $900; First Place Singles $500; First Place All-Events $375; Based on a minimum of 240 bowlers.
